This project was made during the Play Lab (2025) course at IT-University of Copenhagen. We were divided into group of 5 and brainstormed whimsical ideas and created a playable concept.

Our game is a take on survivor-lite game where you play as a cricket trying to survive in a world of predators and obstacles. You level up to become stronger and survive longer. As this cricket, you are literally able to flip reality to take advantage of the environment and survive longer.

Groupwork

During this project, I understood the importance of early prototyping and playtesting in game development. Having an abstract concept converted into a playable prototype can be challenging especially when it comes to fun abstract mechanics and designs. Overall this course made me realize the importance of time management and prototyping in order to create a fun and engaging game. And that not all games needs to be complex and have a lot of mechanics to be fun and engaging.
